    Partner Summit: Day 2

I remember it mentioned yesterday that a few sessions had to be shuffled around for today - this didn't update on the "My Agenda" page, but when I went to the regular "Agenda" page, I saw the accurate agenda.

    Partner Summit: Day 1

While I'm attending virtually, it's nice to see the pics of the physical event and all of the people attending... even Waldo!

Happy SysAdmin Day (yes, I know it's a day late)

Well, I wouldn't say "yes". But I wouldn't say "no" either. Perhaps the best answer for whether users are muppets is "Mah Nà Mah Nà."

Happy SysAdmin Day (yes, I know it's a day late)

Here's another one from Sophos back in 2016 that's also pretty good:

    Hope to be corrected

Yup - just a typo (until AI replaces us all, we're always going to be subject to human error). I still have high hopes that the following question will eventually appear on Network+: Which of the following connector types is used by 10base2 Ethernet networks? (Choose all that apply.) a) b) c)...

How often does incoherent proctoring via OnVue occur?

You are probably correct - all of the proctors I had had a strong Indian accent.

How often does incoherent proctoring via OnVue occur?

Every exam I've taken with Pearson OnVUE involved the proctor threatening me at least 5 times during the exam in a very harsh manner. Sometimes it's been because they saw my lips move (I sometimes silently read questions to myself unconsciously), but most of the time it's because I've moved my...

I see many of us using ifconfig vs ip a in Linux Command

A quick addition to what Rick said: While the ip command is the modern, preferred, and generally cooler way to view and configure IP on Linux systems nowadays, it's equally important to know of ifconfig as it is the only way to view and configure IP on UNIX systems like BSD or macOS.

    From the Linux+ TTT - Tux/Windows background

Nice background! I still prefer my Grand Theft Auto Richard Stallman FSF wallpaper though...

    Linux+ XK0-005 TTT Series

I'll be there! But won't be there 15 min early as usual. Instead, I'll join just before it starts because for the hour beforehand I'll be demonstrating Asahi Linux virtually at the KW Linux Users Group (https://kwlug.org/node/1288) ?

    Is Linux secure or insecure?

No problem! Cengage may have omitted that Appendix because Microsoft has since dramatically simplified the steps to configure WSL following the original publication of the book, making that Appendix no longer relevant. Now, just running wsl --install from a command prompt in Win10/11 installs...

    Is Linux secure or insecure?

OMG - how could I have forgotten OpenBSD?!? I should have known that

    Is Linux secure or insecure?

While it is arguably true that most - if not all - open source software is more secure than closed-source software via community contribution, security itself is never guaranteed and largely depends on how software and systems are implemented. Some Linux distributions are reasonably secure...

    Average Success Rate

A realistic success rate should vary class-by-class based on the composition of the class as well. For example, a class primarily composed of students with no prior background and poor English proficiency should not be compared to a class primarily composed of students with prior background and...

Fun video interview I did last week regarding Cybersecurity (with CompTIA plugs)

I was asked by Dan (who owns a local Cybersecurity MSP called Rhyno Cybersecurity that employs our grads) if I'd be on his podcast. It was last minute (the podcast was the same day as the request), and completely unprepared and unscripted. May be worthwhile for students (my current students...
