    Cloud Lab

Does anyone have a 30 to 60-minute lab on "Cloud" basics? I was thinking of having students launch some AWS resources (free tier). Does anyone have something you can share on building / launching / managing cloud resources to put their learning into practice? This is for my 16 and 17 year old A+...

    Reading vs studying vs hands-on

You hit the nail on the head describing the kids. Only a small percentage of my first-year students have their own PC as many are just here to get their CTE credit out of the way or couldn't get into wood shop. Requiring ITF+ is key. Of course, two years of modified learning for COVID haven't...

    Reading vs studying vs hands-on

Thank you, all, for the responses. Quite helpful. I had a good day (very rare) and I think with enough encouragement, a nice email home to parents about what we're trying to accomplish, the ITF+ as a requirement, and really forcing and expecting some homework (like CertMaster Practice sections I...

    Reading vs studying vs hands-on

Why? For a lab exercise, and to see how they work, I say why not!

    Reading vs studying vs hands-on

That's a hard nut to swallow -- to know that 85 to 90% of the kids who come to class everyday aren't going to make it, aren't going to do the extra work, aren't into the program enough to work hard for it. Makes me question the worthiness of the program and the time I'm expending everyday. Right...

    Reading vs studying vs hands-on

My high school A+ students (15 to 16 years old) are struggling with the pace at which I am covering 220-1001. I have about 105 hours to give demonstrations, lecture, have them take notes, conduct class discussions, watch related videos, talk about current events, and give them quizzes and tests...

    A+ Retirement

"And there is plenty of time to pass from the then old or new Series." -- not if you teach the A+ over two years to high school students. I'm going to have to have my 220-1001 take 1101 again next year while they are worrying about 1102. Going to be fun!

    Need some Advice

Hi Cole. I'd be up for a phone call to chat about teaching ITF. Let me know if you are available any time after 1 p.m. or on the weekend.

NCL Fall 2021 Season Starting Soon

Hi. Where can I find the minimum requirements for participating? I have some high school freshman with very little experience outside building a gaming PC.

    Server+ - Post-Peek thoughts

Rick, I'd like to hear more about this. Could you expound on your thoughts on this and how it relates to the two-cert A+? I struggle with getting students through all this content (especially if they are new to it) in 120 hours (one academic year with 5 x 40 minute periods per week).

    A+ = Favorite

For all of you following this thread, I'm trying to figure out the best way to teach A+ at a high school level where I meet the kids for approximately 180 40-minute sessions. I don't think I can adequately do the teaching, have class discussions, review the material, take the exam, and review...

Input on minimum ideal A+ lab equipment (& labs)

Lee, sorry you didn't get any responses. How is your year going? Are you going to be able to teach A+ in one school year?
