    Is this forum still alive?

For A+ and N+ content, we are currently using Cisco Network Academy content. It is okay and free. We augment it with some of our own materials. The A+ class is really packed, and they don't have much time to be bored. It is a 3-credit class. I have seen people use this content and do it in 4 or...

    Is this forum still alive?

I want to jump in here and say that we, as instructors, are part of the problem. We need to not be boring and know our stuff. Death by PowerPoint or excessive rambling is not helpful. As much as possible, have the learners doing. If they are doing, then it is hard for them to focus on other...

    Passed- CompTIA SecurityX Certification Exam(CAS-005)

DataX was a stretch for me as well. It was an interesting test. I choose to spend time studying for that. I did it in reverse order. I took time with DataX, and then with SecurityX a few weeks later, as time wasn't really needed...

    Passed- CompTIA SecurityX Certification Exam(CAS-005)

Congrats. I had a similar experience last month when I took the test. I wanted to take a practice test and have an idea of how close I was to passing, but with the pass/fail and no score, that put a wrench in my plans. I ended up not studying as much, but I had a second attempt if needed, so I...

Why has CompTIA no Exam Question Feedback Button during Exam?

I think some questions are there for reasons other than to test if you know the best answer. They may be there for the following reasons. Time Waster - To make you spend too much time on one of the questions that is not even graded. May not have any correct answers or may no make any sense at...

    Do You Report Cheating?

I advise anyone preparing for the exam to be extremely cautious, as cheating can result in a lifetime ban. That makes them ineligible for some jobs that require certifications. I try to scare them into not cheating. In the past government employees who cheat could lose their job if the...

Purchasing CompTIA vouchers for your college?

Both, Students can use the academic store and receive a discount. When logging in, we have an academic partner role that offers the discounted pricing for bulk orders. Right now, we are mostly using the students' purchasing from the academic store.

    Train-the-Trainer for CompTIA Data+ DA0-002

Wow, Data+ TTT was just last year and maybe another one for the new exam coming up. You all are really pumping out the training's the last two years. I think I have been able to participate in all of them, LOL.

Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacker Content Overlap

I agree with this assessment. CEH was a popular certification for a short time, but it eventually lost its appeal in the tech community. HR is extremely slow, so the demand remains. I would argue that OCSP is the entry-level cert in this area, and most others are insufficient. Just my 2 cents.

Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacker Content Overlap

I can validate that this is the case. EC council requires you to be certified to teach the content. CEH is way beyond Security+. I think CEH is beyond Pentest+. I have yet to take SecurityX, so I cannot speak to that.

    Exam Proctoring

This is a great question. My students are from all around the world, and a degree from the USA is no always considered sufficient. Professional certifications seem to help bridge that gap for many of them. Mostly, I ask the students what they want to do. Have them look for jobs and find what...

    Exam Proctoring

Hum, found the policy :( https://www.comptia.org/testing/testing-policies-procedures/test-policies/proctor-policies CompTIA certificate holders who wish to become a test center administrator must wait a minimum of six (6) months following the most recent CompTIA exam before becoming a test...

    Exam Proctoring

I just took Tech+ as I got my voucher from the TTT. I may want to partner with some high schools and offer that. Being far from everything and with the student population at BYU-Hawaii, testing centers are inaccessible. Like most higher education institutions, our testing center closed. I am...

    Exam Proctoring

So, getting ready to take a test and noticed that you are not supposed to use laptops others have used. I often loan out my old laptops to students whose devices do not work. What are my options? Also, can you proctor the tests in a classroom? How do you become worthy of being a CompTIA exam...
