Phil Chapman

Phil Chapman is the Commercial Subject Matter Expert (Cyber) and senior instructor with Firebrand Training UK. He is responsible for the delivery of a range of courses including official Microsoft, CompTIA, EC Council and BCS official certifications.

He is also the subject matter expert and project lead for the bespoke Law Enforcement Cyber Security training packages which are delivered to UK Law Enforcement agencies and forces. He is the SME for the Commercial Cybersecurity portfolio and holds a variety of IT Technical and Security qualifications across many fields including ethical hacking, incident handling and forensic investigation.

For the past 12 years Phil has been responsible for the training and support of nearly 80% of UK Law Enforcement forces including Counter Terrorism Units, Cyber Fraud Investigation Units and Cyber Protect and Prevent officers across the UK. In this time he has built up a reputation as one of the leading operational trainers in this field. He actively supports several forces and regional cybercrime units outside of his training role.

Phil spent 24 years in the Royal Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst working across the world in support of Signals and Human Intelligence operations. He worked mostly for MoD and GCHQ agencies but also supported UK counter terrorism agencies and security services during his career. He also spent 5 years as a military trainer delivering courses in analysis, security and intelligence gathering and reporting. He speaks several languages including Russian and Arabic which were part of his intelligence career in the MoD.

In 2007 Phil left the RAF and began a career as a training consultant, initially within a Microsoft Academy and then as a freelance consultant/trainer working across Europe in support of multiple companies and organisations across many sectors of industry. This included health, finance, local government, military and small businesses.

He is actively involved the Prepare, Protect and Prevent strategies working alongside UK law enforcement agencies and advises as an SME to several UK based Cyber Crime Units.
