Greetings,
I am an instructor at OSU OKC in the Information Systems and Technologies department. I have been with the university for one year. Before this stint, I was a full-time adjunct lecturer in the Business Communications and Legal Studies Department at Stephen F. Austin State University, SFASU, in Nacogdoches, Texas. I also taught micro and macroeconomics.
I have obtained CompTIA certifications in SEC+, CYSA, and Project+ and am working on Linux+. I am not afraid to admit that I am struggling with Linux+.
I worked for ten years as the head of North American operations for a UK-based company, Synchro ERP, providing global sales and technical support. This is foundry-specific software; think liquid metal that forms drive shafts, U-joints, fire hydrants, etc.
Then, I spent twelve years as the information systems manager at a large ductile iron and steel foundry, Citation Texas Foundries. The company is now defunct. This was an IBM AS/400-based system. My claim to fame was implementing Y2K controls with a four-million-dollar budget and an Intermec RF barcoding and tracking system.
I cut my teeth in information systems at EDS, Electronic Data Systems, as a systems engineer specializing in COBOL and ALC assembly on IBM mainframes. Think Ross Perot. I attended the Systems Engineering Development program. During my career, I worked with health and life insurance, chemical process, cosmetics, and Texas state government industry segments.
I have an MBA emphasizing business communication and management and a BS in Computer Science from SFASU.
At OSU OKC, we are embarking on a new online four-year cyber security degree, for which I am developing new courses. I teach MS Office, advanced MS Excel, and Information Systems help desk. In the fall of 2024, I will teach IT project management and cyber ethics/law.
I am pleased that I was accepted into this group.
