    Cloud +003 update?

So, what I ended up doing was taking the Microsoft MS900 and SC900 exams. This gave me more than enough CEUs to reup on my Cloud+. For me, I think that's a better route, since I have aspirations of getting more certified in Azure. /r

    CIN TTT Series: SecurityX v5

So, our college has been using a homegrown SQL database (actually, four of them) for our Student Information System - this is the system we use to manage student records for the school. While home grown is nice, it's hard when you don't always have the programming support for it, and when...

Does siting the SecurityX exam recertifies Cloud+?

I haven't heard of anything like that - personally, I'd rather go that route - that way, I can go through the refresher training for changes and have the cert at the end. I suspect it's mostly predicated on the Security+ and how the US DoD leans on it very heavily for security certification...

Does siting the SecurityX exam recertifies Cloud+?

Okay, let's see if I can clear this up... 1) Sitting the SecurityX exam does not automatically renew the Cloud+ credential. The only exam that you can take that will automatically renew the Cloud+ is the Cloud+. 2) Sitting the SecurityX exam will provide 25 CEUs towards renewal of Cloud+ if...

Does siting the SecurityX exam recertifies Cloud+?

Totally misread the question - yes, there's that too. I was thinking about the renew-chain for the core certs.

Does siting the SecurityX exam recertifies Cloud+?

It does not. You have to either recertify Cloud+ by taking an upgraded exam, or through the CEU process. I did that this year when I took courses for MSFT Azure. Taking both MS900 and SC900 gave me more than enough CEU credit to update my Cloud+. /r

Is DOGE a threat to national security, or at the very least, Americans' PII?

Well, I think I'm going to leave the debate here - as I really don't fancy a more political conversation (the last few years have made me weary of it all, to be honest). I think we all bring up some good points and concerns and I think we can all agree that this particular situation is not a cut...

    An A+ History question

Again, pretty much the same story here too. I think I remember the CDP credential - I never took it or anything - a mite bit before my time.

Is DOGE a threat to national security, or at the very least, Americans' PII?

I won't deny that a number of for-profit schools have created a sense of distrust around the prop-education sector, but as I mentioned, the cost to educate a student is no different, whether it's public or private - this is the part we don't hear about. The government subsidizes public...

Is DOGE a threat to national security, or at the very least, Americans' PII?

*sigh* - I know I'm going to regret this post...but...okay, I'll go play in traffic here... The doge.gov website went online as of this morning which, we hope, will provide an accounting of, not just the fraud, but the wasted spending in various departments. I personally look forward to...

    An A+ History question

This is pretty much the exact same story I had. I was working for CSC and taking the MCSE NT4 track in 1997-1998 and completed exam six (Exchange 5.5) in an adaptive format which took me 16 minutes to finish. I was so happy. Got back to the office, only to have one shlub tell me, "yah, but...

Is DOGE a threat to national security, or at the very least, Americans' PII?

I have to say, this is a very dangerous political football question for the CIN board - which can easily spiral out of control, based on various ideologies. That being said, I'm going to attempt a neutral approach. I'm going to say that with Government agencies, which are filled with unelected...

This is a go-live week for us adopting Anthology Student, so I will probably end up watching these On-Demand - if I survive the rollout that is...LOL /r

    How to keep CompTIA (A+, N+, & S+, CySA+) certifications active

Just to note that this method won't renew certs that are not part of the cyber and core tracks. So if you have Cloud+, for example, you either need CEUs and current member fees or take the updated exam. /r

    Partner Summit 2025??

Well, for the last few ChannelCon/Partner Summits that I attended, the ratio was about 75/25 in terms of attendees. While I know CompTIA tried to make a good, blended event, I always felt like the red-headed stepchild when I happened into the ChannelCon areas (except going into the...

    Cloud+ TTT vouchers, question.

Vouchers for Cloud+ were sent out on, or about December 18, at least according to this post/thread. If you didn't get yours, you will want to connect with @Stephen Schneiter. One of the biggest issues that come up with voucher fulfillment using the same email for CIN, On24, and CompTIA...

    DeepSeek

My vote is 'unapologetically stolen'. And if this is to be believed - TinyZero..for $30 and a few hours time...sound like BlackFedoraAI could be on the horizon. (if I can find a few hours time) /r

Too careful = use someone else's name for nefarious purposes... I guess that's what I get, eh? With all this, with DeepSeek now being investigated for ripping off OpenAI , here's your song, Greg: /r
