Update to CompTIA Project+ in 2025?

I don't think we will see a change in Project+ in the next 12 months. With all the changes at CompTIA, the Good For Life certs usually take a back seat to the CE's that are on a three-year schedule. I would say, perhaps next year, after the release of the 8th edition of the PMBOK. PMI is...

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

Yep - that's a big phat zero for me too. /r

    Partner Summit 2025??

We don't know yet, James. After the CompTIA change, we've not gotten a lot of definitive information. All I can say is, stay tuned. :)

    Lost voucher

Also, Microsoft has a recovery function for things that are deleted. Not sure about Google these days, since I don't use Gmail much anymore. I think Workspace has one, if your e-mail is part of an organization.

    How would you filter TikTok?

Very useful information. For those that need to lock it down, you've made it easy for folks, because it's not just the main domain, it's all those pesky side domains. Thanks for that!

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

Exactly. While the ROI always comes into question with having multiple media options, it does make for happier customers. When CertMaster came out before, I laid a lot of questions in on audio accessibility, since my eyes aren't always up to reading things. And being an audiophile myself, I...

    Partner Summit 2025??

Indeed. I think you owe me beer, so it would be a great time to collect. I've spoken to a few people also within CompTIA. I think there is a strong desire to have one, but it's still in the air. I hear Denver is nice. ;) Just as long as we don't do it in the deep south this year. I felt...

Hol' up...where did YOU come from?!? (good to see you, FINALLY, out here on CIN!)

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

So, I spoke to a few folks in CompTIA during Summit about this. In fact, @Becky Mann even asked me directly as to what was the principal reason for keeping printed materials. I mentioned a lot of these things to her. 1) Offline access - As you stated *and* as someone pointed out on the TTT...

    How would you filter TikTok?

One of the things I've often said and something that I prefer to say in Latin: - Si non est timor legis, non est lex. (without fear of the law, there is no law) I think when organizations abuse the law or they think they can just 'pay the fine' if it goes south, it doesn't act as much of a...

Post Quality and CIN (long-read - get some coffee)

Hello CIN Community: Lately, we have had a stream of comments regarding post quality, resulting from hundreds of posts that have been, I'm going to say, low quality. I've spoken to a number of folks over the last couple weeks on this and I felt like I should weigh in. Just to note, I don't...

    How would you filter TikTok?

And further - what's to stop a user in the US from, say, getting a nifty little VPN app (I rather like Surfshark, actually) and accessing TikTok with that, from another non-US point? Perhaps most of the US users aren't able or willing to get a VPN on their personal devices, but that's the...

    Getting started

Welcome to CIN! Glad to have you here! CIN is about creating a community where instructors, content developers, and curriculum creators can collude on how to deliver CompTIA to various training areas. It's where we can support one another and find new ways to serve our learners. @Steve...

Can't update my About info so I'll put this here....

I used to write blogs about tech and politics back in the day, but I had no idea that Medium was that exclusive about content. What's the benefit of posting with them to merit that kind of exclusivity?

    Passed Cloud+ CV0-004

Nice! I did MS900 and SC900 last year in order to get the CEUs for my Cloud+ renewal this year. At first I thought it was sort of the "easy" way, but really, I think it's better because I get to expand my certification base without having to put a huge amount of focus on a cert I have. #WorthIt

    Troubleshooting?

Sounds completely plausible, because, at the end, troubleshooting is just as much an art as it is a science.

    New CompTIA A+ logo update

I think this has to do with two things. First, next year, we're supposed to see the 1200 series of the A+ Core exams. But the second is what has been nicknamed the "underscore" series. This was talked about at the 2023 and 2024 Summits. Of course, I think this is all contingent on decisions...

    Slide Decks More Effective

I can also see how "what questions" can be stymie'ing (if that's a word) for students - perhaps under pressure to come up with a question to ask, or just assuming not to - unless there's something better to be gained. One thing I've done in the past is to reward those that ask thoughtful...

Hello, pls i need CompTIA security+ slides to deliver

The way I see it, (and notwithstanding my stinging rebuke of slides in general), a presenter using slides should build his/her own, so that the slides follow the speaker (and not the reverse). Yes it takes time, but I think it attunes the presentation and keeps it from sounding discombobulated...
