SpiceWorks - No longer "Free Forever"

Hello CIN'ers (and particularly those who are SpiceHeads) - Not sure if you heard the news, but it would seem that SpiceWorks' pledge to be forever free has gone the way of the dodo. Those of us who have been using the SpiceWorks cloud helpdesk for years, asking for Entra ID and better methods...

    Creating a Exam Study Group

There was an old book that I got when I was at UPhoenix called "Tools for Teams" which talked about the idea of Learning Teams. The general idea is that they would be student study groups, but would be mentored by an instructor. I think whenever they were promoted and 'believed in', they...

Inquiring Minds Want to Know about Cyber Ranges

I liked the Cyber Skyline challenges that were at conference. The only downer was when they did the CTF last year, they reused the challenges from two years ago, or when I said, "oh, this looks familiar..." a few times. /r

PDF Files for A+ and Security+ Course Outlines?

When I've built classes in the past, I've had to use a combination of a previous version book and the CompTIA objectives to put together a class, in the absence of updated material. In my experience, 20-25% of a course changes between revisions, so it's not too hard to build a working outline...

    How can i get training

BDM is a Business Development Manager, the representative in CompTIA that interfaces with partners. I haven't heard of a voucher or materials freeze, but perhaps while CompTIA restructures its business to more of a for-profit model, it has to manage costs. But then, I haven't had to request a...

    Tech + exam

I took the 061, cold turkey, zero prep, just to see how I'd do. Even after 30+ years in the industry, I still got questions wrong - which means there's always something more to learn, even at entry level.

    Hiring for Casual Trainers

Casual hours are basically on an as-needed basis. There are no guarantees of hours or timing, a contrast from Part-Time work which has a set schedule, albeit less than the 40 hour US standard. There are no ongoing commitments between employer or employee and the pay is akin to gig-work.

    Passed CySA+

Well done! That's a great accomplishment. I remember when I passed CySA the first time - I came out of the test room at our school...and into the middle of a major server outage, with everyone trying to find me... Good times. Again, congrats on your win!

hellow , how to be partener training center

It's all good. CIN did add a bit more control with the business email thing - which I'm completely fine with. I would say it's more about what they DON'T want, such as fraudsters that just want free vouchers.

Where do I find the 'on-demand' recordings of my course?

Snaer: If you use the same On24 links from your email, they will always point to the on-demand recordings as well. Meanwhile, here's the link for CNX-001 Session 1. /r

hellow , how to be partener training center

CIN is a global community of instructors, program directors, managers, or basically anyone who is involved in helping students learn the CompTIA content. It's not specific to Authorized partners, as there are plenty of individual trainers, content producers, freelancers and so forth, who are...

    Excited about the CompTIA Essentials

True for playing the lottery. But I think CompTIA sees an opportunity to secure business and profit. They see an opportunity to do business and they, perhaps, see a calculus that we don't see.

    Pearson Vue Proctoring Issues

I've heard of a number of issues with OnVUE over the years, to the point where, I, myself, will never take an OnVUE exam; I'll continue to go to a testing center. Just safer that way,, IMAO. Hopefully appealing to their support staff will help.
