CIN Essentials TTT Series: CompTIA AI Essentials

See, not to pick on @Nick Pierce too bad, but I'm only slightly miffed that the course is not being taught by AI. /r

    Partner Summit 2025

(thought I answered this one a day or so ago...hah...) With ChannelCon being about 3-4 times the size of Partner Summit in the past, I gathered it wouldn't happen this year. It's unfortunate, considering that the only conference I'm doing this year is Anthology - and I know no one here...

    Partner Summit 2025??

There isn't one. Nothing planned or announced. GTIA ChannelCon is at the end of this month as before, but after the CompTIA splitoff, I got the sense that Partner Summit was off for this year. Maybe next year...

CompTIA CAS-005 Retake Possible After Missing Appointment Due To Internet?

Never had a problem with any of our testing centers here in COS. And I have a great working relationship with one, so I'd rather seem them get the meager few bucks for proctoring. For me, it's always about mindset - when I get into a test center, I'm more in my A-game. Probably the same kind...

CompTIA CAS-005 Retake Possible After Missing Appointment Due To Internet?

Quite likely the proctor revoked the exam session if he/she attempted contact/re-establish connection. Usually minor outages can be tolerated, even if you end up with a different proctor. But if the session was revoked, then there's nothing for it. While I'm sure this isn't the case for you...

    In-Class Exercises

Lab Manuals that are tied to the traditional publishers like Cengage, Pearson, and others. Using those lab manuals as a guide and building them up, to me have created some great examples. Even if the lab manuals are deprecated in terms of test version, they're still very valid. Get a stack of...

Effectiveness of Simulated Software Labs vs. Live Lab Environment.

I think *everyone* here would prefer that live lab environment. The things that I've noticed is that in live environments, you have real problems that sometimes need to be fixed - which is a learning experience in of itself. Plus it's live fire - with all the functions intact. Sim...

    Certification Languages

Demand usually drives these things. If there is an uptick in the number of people calling for it, then I can see CompTIA investing the time and money into creating materials in different languages. I would say any language would effectively become its own project in terms of development - so...

    Security+ Unusual Request from Contractor

Totally concur here. Provide the client with options, sure. At the very furthest, they provide the cash upfront if they wanted me to buy it on their behalf. But that's it. Contractor should never accept the client's risk on anything.

Updated class room to iMac M4 from Windows Surface

Well, I just stepped up to an Alienware M18. Probably won't need anything more for about another five years.

I'm afraid so, mate. The window for Core 1 closed on May 15.

Lynn did do a good job with it (for as much as I got to see during the TTT), for sure.

Good to see you out here on CIN, Katie.

    New CompTIA web site launch

Ahh... yes. So in order to participate in the CE program to renew certs, as opposed to taking a test, you have to pay dues. That, I think you know about. My guess is that the tokens are a way to buy up a bunch of CE fees in order to pay them off in bulk and or spread them between CEs that you...

    No Tech+ ID card?

Well, if you have a tall enough stack, glue them together, drill a whole through the center, thread a power cable through them and make a lamp. I considered doing this with a stack of old America Online trial CD's I had back in the day... https://www.instructables.com/Recycled-CDs-Lamp/
