    Cloud Essentials+ retires on September 25, 2025

Anyone remember the long-retired Mobility+ certification back in the days of BlackBerry and the rise of Exchange ActiveSync?

Wondering what type of organization you work for as a trainer

    Post-secondary college here!

Pearsonvue test center? You got one?

Yes - a number of our campuses run a Pearson VUE testing center. They have a dedicated test center administrator, and yes, we are paid for hosting and administering exams (otherwise we wouldn't do it).

    Unused servers

In a physical lab, provisioning a bare metal server (e.g., with Proxmox) and configuring iDRAC or iLO is a valuable skill for IT students. If, however, your students could benefit from building some upper body strength, I suggest: https://www.cloudfest.com/world-server-throwing-championship

Xpert Series - DataX and CloudNetX

Ditto here - more hybrid cloud-specific design and technology topics for me too that I didn't notice on Network+ or Cloud+ (hence the theme I approached the CloudNetX TTT with).

Ah - security for the 'non-carpeted IT' :)

    Partner Summit 2025??

Even an online Summit could work - I've been to several large online tech conferences during the pandemic and they were just as fun and almost as engaging as the in-person events.

    Ohhh... another new cert! Autocode+

It seems like a certification geared towards introductory coding for configuration management (CM) automation and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes and similar technologies in the space). While these topics have formed the crutch of loosely-defined devops/SRE roles these past 5 years, that space...

    Pearsonvue

According to Network+, the first troubleshooting step in this situation is to verify whether your network adapter is properly connected to the network cable and that there is a link light present :)

CloudNetX not showing up in my list of certifications

Mine shows up in the exam history page (date taken + pass grade), but not in the list of certifications. If yours is the same, it's likely just a website issue.

Is DOGE a threat to national security, or at the very least, Americans' PII?

I follow Krebs on Security (excellent), and this was recently posted: https://krebsonsecurity.com/2025/02/teen-on-musks-doge-team-graduated-from-the-com/ There are too many red flags around this whole topic to mention in a single post here. It's scary to say the least.

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

1 point for me, mainly because I've never heard of 'vynil' records ;)

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

100% agree with all of this! First and foremost should be teaching a skill or topic area, with an end goal of having students feel confident in their practical abilities in that skill or topic area. It's a bad thing if people skip that and just focus on getting certified (remember the days of...

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

Obviously, I had to like this post! :) I wholeheartedly agree with everything mentioned in this thread - we choose courseware/textbooks at our college based on content and value. As a result, most of the courses that have an associated CompTIA certification attached to them use materials from...

Printed courseware is gone, but what about the PDFs?

As a Cengage author for Linux+, I know that most colleges purchase the printed copies of my titles instead of just using the eBooks (which are part of the Cengage MindTap platform). The printed version is costlier than the MindTap version, but better because readers benefit from the...
