    AI Essentials by CompTIA

I actually said that I taught AI-900, not the AI Essentials. I used the official Microsoft curriculum.

    AI Essentials by CompTIA

I've taught AI-900; I have written the exam for AI-900. According to this page (https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/ai-essentials/) there is a class for it. According to this page (https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/#ai) there is a certification for it. Google is your...

    Courseware Question

Hey folks. I was asked this morning (by a company that has engaged me to teach dozens of CompTIA courses) to share the slide deck for a course. It is a very well-known company, and I know they have a strong relationship with CompTIA. They do not use third-party courseware, nor do they use...

    CompTIA AutoOps+

Well I live in a rented condo in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area so I don't have a lawn... but when I sit on the balcony smoking cigars I do yell at any delivery driver who tries to park in the reserved parking spots, so I think that qualifies?

    CompTIA AutoOps+

We both are... now get off my lawn!

I've applied... I hope to be selected!

    Certification Recommendation

I would think the A+ and MS-900 would be realistic... as long as (as you mentioned) they all have prior IT experience.

    Passed- CompTIA SecurityX Certification Exam(CAS-005)

While I received the confirmation that I passed the SecX exam within minutes of completion, I have students who had to wait several days before they received their results. Congratulations to you for passing it... It was NOT an easy exam!

    Powerpoint

I do have them... but that's not how you get them. If I were to send them to you then I would be in violation of all sorts of statutes. If you do not have access to them then you have to get them through the proper channels.

Two of my certs are good through 2031. I'm done retaking exams just because the version has changed.

There is one training organization that asked me recently to prove that I have the latest A+ Net+ Sec+... they told me that unless I do, they will mark me as ineligible to teach those classes. I told the broker that based on the pay rate (which is abysmal) I would spend neither the money for the...

    Knowing NIST

That is exactly the answer that I gave, but I told the class that I would check with people who were smarter than I am to be sure. Thanks @Gregory Childers !

    Knowing NIST

I have a couple of students who are telling me that on a practice exam they were asked to identify a particular NIST publication. While I have told them they need to know the talking points of all of the ones referenced in the course, would they be asked on the exam to call out that 800-53 is...

    Passed SecurityX CAS-005

Most of my exams were either vouchers or extreme discounts... as we are MCTs I think we pay 25% of the regular rate. All of my CompTIA exams and ISC2 exams were vouchers. I agree though... the CISSP (which I don't have yet, but I did pass the exam and am waiting for the Endorsement process) is...

    What's in a name?

That makes sense… but the Advanced Security Professional still sounds more dignified ;) I confess that as I was looking for something else yesterday I came across a page with a bunch of CompTIA certs that I did not even know existed... so I am sure that you are right about that!

    Passed SecurityX CAS-005

You are 100% right. Something that I have found of late... the training companies that have worked with me for longer periods are more than happy to let me audit the classes (if I need it) and then provide me an exam voucher. I suppose that comes with the years of work I have put into becoming...

    What's in a name?

I am sure William Shakespeare would agree that it does not matter, but as I preen over passing CAS-005 yesterday, I wonder if CompTIA's marketing department might not have taken a wrong turn on this one. Certified Advanced Security Practitioner... it sounds reverential - a title to be...

    Passed SecurityX CAS-005

While I agree that the exams should be more rigorous, let's be honest... If someone wants to study and cram for an exam then there is no need for the experience... simply to pass. I am reminded of the paper MCSEs of the late 1990s. Hopefully they at least learn something along the way. I wish I...
