It just means one extra step in putting a cert into my "i-love-me" book, which is, for me, a 3" three ring binder with every award or achievement since my high school years. I think the first one is my athletic JV letter for Golf....

Asking the question, "how to learn AI" is like asking the generalized question, "how do I learn computers" or "how do I learn how to paint". I do agree that a focused approach is always preferred, but one doesn't always know what he/she needs or wants...

Well, all I have is what Stephen posted back in April about feedback for 2026. With most of the TTT's being TBD (probably between release timing as well as finding instructors to teach those TTT's). CySA+ is also on the TBD list, so I think we're all waiting for some more concrete...
I did as well, but I think the impetus is to downplay the GFL's in the industry - employers want evidence of current knowledge and experience - so with a certification, that means CEUs to maintain the cert. For CompTIA, well, a better revenue stream for certifications that have to be renewed...
Not sure how many of you saw this come in through Credly, but it appears that CompTIA is moving these two certifications to the CE model, along with all the others.

I think this is probably the solution. I do believe that CompTIA can work with extenuating circumstances - although I can also see something like this getting abused very quickly.
It was about the same thing for SecurityX. I attended and developed training, plus accounted for cyber work experience for my renewal. I think the X certs are probably going to all be that way. /r
