I did notice 1 question in Lesson 5 that is comparing security in cloud vs security in traditional networks. The answers were obvious though, so it was wasn't really raised as a concern by the students.

As for your query, you can renew your CompTIA certs via non-CompTIA IT industry certification.
In relation to your case re: Cloud+, yes you can use your AWS cert as CEU (continuing education unit).
