This is very crucial and very very needed because cataloging and standardizing identifiers for publicly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerabilities is'nt something that should be left to chance.
Good to know news it has been renewed/extended.
This is a rich and awesome certification series you have in your arsenal. Yes there comes a time when you no longer feel the need to keep recertifiy.
All the best in your DataX and Linux+ certs.
Nice move. this will open a new horizon for students, lectures and opportunity for the public to run short or custom programs with the university powered by the numerous certifications that CompTIA offers.
This really looks awesome. Lets watch out as the certification gets to mature. usually what happens with new certifications. feedback plays a role in shaping expectations and subsequent versions of the cert.

Previously it was from manual detection to log based detection, then we moved to using some kind of database offline or online over a server to verify signatures and flag packets or IP address( IP abuse database is an example where we flag an IP based on its previous use)
With automation now...
My suggestions are
1. Be sure you are also certified or have alternative certs or at least have the industy/hands-on experience in these certifications so as to provide appropriate guide for intending trainees
2. Affilliate yourself with any partnered training organization around you...
