It's a basic foundation towards higher certs. I have all 3, and I am glad I did. The CompTIA exams are a bit less than some of the others, I like to dip my feet in the shallow pool (price-wise) before spending 2 -3x more. So I would recommend them.
Can you involve your school's English teacher with helping with the focus on the exam? To help them with specifics to the exam but from an English instructor help?
I've seen issues on a lot of exams (non-CompTIA too) when using my Mac. I try to not use Safari and that seems to help, but as others have said, the Testing Center might be the best bet.
I am a full-time CISO and do teach on the side. There are a lot of opportunities to look for part-time work at a community college, but it depends on where you live. Regarding bilingual, it's usually done in English, but that would depend on the institution.
