    Additional Resources

Definitely take a look at Prowse and Parker/O'Shea. They are really good resources. I never recommend Messer exclusively. Like many pointed out, using only one resource is not advantageous As an instructor who is thorough and wanting my students to use other resources than the books we use, I...

    Additional Resources

When my students ask, I recommend a few, trusted resources: Mike Meyers: All-in-One Certification Exam Guide Mike Chapple: CompTIA A+ CertMike: Prepare. Practice. Pass the Test! Get Certified David Prowse: Exam Cram Professor Messer- his website: www.professormesser.com. Encourage them to...

Help for Student re: Request for Accommodation due to English as a Second Language

Thanks for the information. I talked to her, and we just spent a day running through practice tests and built up a vocabulary list of words she didn't know. She went in to a testing center and passed! She had just under three minutes to spare, but she did pass. Thanks for checking in with me. :)

Help for Student re: Request for Accommodation due to English as a Second Language

We are aware of that. However, there are times when people learn it in English and have learned the terminology in English, so they'd prefer to take the exam in English as well. Thanks.

Help for Student re: Request for Accommodation due to English as a Second Language

Ok, thanks, @Stephen Schneiter. More specifically: I teach a Canadian cohort A+. There is a Pakistani woman who became a Canadian citizen two years ago who is newer to English Other vendors, such as AWS, allow for a 30-minute extension of time for people who are taking the certification in...

Help for Student re: Request for Accommodation due to English as a Second Language

Hello everyone. I have been in a Zoom call with one of my students for almost two hours (insane!!!!). She is in my Canadian cohort in Calgary. I am in the USA. This woman clearly has a language barrier. English is not her first language; however, she studies hard, and she understands...

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Well, they are apparently not going to change the schedule out. I don't see how I'll have more time to do anything more than pick a few things to discuss per slide- like maybe 2 things. And then, I'll have to emphasize there's a significant amount they can get from the CompTIA materials. Thanks!

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Ok everyone. I'm getting a lot of pushback. They have other instructors that said that CompTIA revamped their courses to provide a week long training where they removed unnecessary material, so one week would be appropriate. Does anyone know anything about this? Or do you know anyone...

What is the shortest time to teach A+

I think 40 hours minimum would be best. I remember when I did A+ and learned it in my bootcamp. They did it over three months. That was a good, comfortable pace. It allowed us to ask questions, complete labs, and do homework. We were always well prepared for class.

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Thanks, everyone. I'll just emphasize that if Core 1 and Core 2 is a total of 5 days, then the only thing I really can be expected to do is run through the slides and point out one or two things to focus upon for the exam per slide and take very few questions. That's it! I feel uneasy about...

What is the shortest time to teach A+

That's kind of nuts. The place that approached me is a bootcamp, though, not a school. They would most likely just argue back that they are not a higher education institution, and they're not accepting or dispensing financial aid. I think just emphasizing the metrics for success would be the...

What is the shortest time to teach A+

It appears they do. They just seem to want to do every training, no matter what subject, in five days. It's weird. How do you get quality learning done when there's only five days? I'm inclined to say no, but I think the best thing is to emphatically explain that this isn't going to happen...

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Thanks. For people who have no knowledge of A+, how would that work out, especially if they're given the voucher to take it after the five day period? There is also no built-in time for review.

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Hi everyone, I was approached by someone who wanted me to teach Core 1 and Core 2 in five days- TOTAL. The classes would be 9 am- 6 pm. I could see if they asked for 5 days each, but five days total? Is this possible to do? What is the recommended time to teach the CompTIA Core 1 and Core...

"Monitoring in AWS" Lab instructions need update

Most definitely. Just elaborating out for the OP- CloudWatch is to be used for monitoring. EventBridge is to be used for event-driven architecture. It is being used to respond to your alarms and initiate automated workflows in response to alarms and events. It's an extension of CloudWatch now...

How to access to Instructor Guides, Slide Desks, Student Guides,… of Network+ TTT

Awesome. I thought I was losing it for a moment. :ROFLMAO: Thanks for checking in on that, and thanks to @Rick Butler for bringing this up.

How long is our access to the new Net+?

It does. I'd actually prefer to wait until after the TTT ends, and then take the learning and dive a bit deeper, and THEN get the voucher and pass the Net+. I was mostly afraid the voucher expires when the TTT series expires. Thanks for the explanation!

How long is our access to the new Net+?

Hi everyone, I was in the process of signing up, and I wanted to figure out how much time I have to access the new materials given to us for access to the Network+ 009 materials from our TTT series. Is it 3 months from the day of our sign up, or 3 months from the first day of the start of the...

    CIN TTT Series: Network+ N10-009

I feel the same way! Network+ intimidates me, but I'm looking forward to a deep dive. What becomes known becomes less intimidating for me. So I am looking forward to it as well. :) Thank you to CIN TTT and @Stephen Schneiter as well!
