To validate that I am an official CompTIA instructor, do I need to have the CTT+ or is there another new related certification?

Ditto. Teaching since 1999 myself. If needed, I can provide ‘evaluations’ as proof of great instructional reference… Congrats on the 24 years! That’s a rarity nowadays.

Does the CertMaster curriculum include labs?

The labs are pretty good too. Some courses labs are better than others.

    Philadelphia Area Adjunct Instructor Needed - A+ (1101 and 1102) - Fall 2024

20 minutes maybe? 🥸 but my guess would be way less than that. All jokes aside; it’s based in the institution requirements they have to meet for anyone to teach any courses. I used to teach at a 4-year degree college back in the early 2000’s that didn’t have the stringent restrictions in place (...

    CompTIA 2024 Partner Pricing

Psychologically this is the same as with buying anything… would you pay $200 or $199.99. Thought the $404 seems a bit off, they should have gone for $399 instead. It ‘looks’ cheaper than $404… 😂

When to switch to teaching new exam revision?

True, I did pre-order the Sybex book from Amazon and received it a few weeks ago. got done teaching my first 701 course and would definitely say that if you are teaching the 701 course, have students take the 701 exam. If you are still teaching 601 then have students take the 601 exam.

Thanks for your responses Gregory, appreciate the feedback, don’t get me wrong, I agree with what you are saying. My point was how we as trainers get put into situations where we have to make do with what we are given. So rather than require that it’s mandatory for students to take A+ then...

    Training Events

Congratulations! I just passed mine a week ago. In the process of teaching my first 701 class. Definitely different than what we saw with 601. I will always take the newest version of the exam, even if it hasn’t expired yet. As it was a requirement for the training centers I contracted for...

3rd Party Training Materials or Official CompTIA Learn & Labs

I second that. I used to work as a contract Instructor for many different training centers and it seems that they all had different materials, at the end of the day, we as Trainers need to take whichever format and source we are given ans make the best out of it. We have to be able to adapt to...

    TestOut Security Pro!

Congratulations! Hope you celebrated! I’m still celebrating over here, passed it as well. And taught my first 701 course. It’s definitely a twist from the previous 601 version.

Adapt, make it work with what you got. I’ve been put into these situations over and over again by training centers. sales people need to make sales.. if sec+ is next on the schedule, it will get sold. It’s been like this ever since I started teaching back in ‘99. Not sure it’s gonna change...

That would be great Gregory, ideal for sure. how would that work for students that are paying out of pocket, trying to support a family on a single salary or no salary. I understand why we have students in classes they shouldn’t be in. 1. salespeople within the training centers pushing for...

I’ve been teaching since 1999 and found throughout my tenor that training centers will fill the seats and it was always up to me to get them past the class into the cert to get their checkboxes checked ( sec+ check!) so they can do their job of click okay on the pop up. ( at least that’s what it...
