Now I gotta know why both? Why not Yahoo, or some other johnnie-come-lately???
Gmail shines to its strong search capabilities, superior spam filtering, and connection with the Google ecosystem (Docs, Drive).
Outlook's calendar and business functions, particularly when combined with Office 365, make it perfect. It also easily connects with other Microsoft services to facilitate professional collaboration.

I'm almost certain that the great majority of email users have not invested this
level of sedulous thought into their selection of email client. Another demonstration
of your technical prowess and your intellectual dimensions!!!!

Thank you again for elevating my knowledge base!!!

Thank you as well...It's great to have these discussions!

Really, the decision of what client a. person might use to manage email is going. to be, at the end of the day, A matter of personal preference, availability of software, and platform on which that's running. Right now, in the Microsoft World, you have the choice between the new outlook, which is more based on web technology and the legacy outlook, which was packaged with Microsoft Office back in the day. I know people who are completely. sworn against the new outlook., simply because Of the way that it lays out things.. i've come to get used to it. And I guess, kind of like it. despite the fact that it does tend to use resources a little bit more aggressively.

I probably would not use Gmail. to do much with a Microsoft account, simply because of the way that Gmail and Microsoft actually sort and managed data.. Google does everything through tagging, whereas Microsoft still can sort categorically and in folders.. In Gmail,, the concept of a folder is actually an illusion.. Everything is basically meta tagged as if it were piled up in a big pile in the middle of the floor. This is why Google excels at searching, because it doesn't have to go into a complex folder structure in order to get at specific messages.

And I think there's probably. some holdouts who still like Mozilla Thunderbird, or something along those lines.

As for Yahoo, I would not use a Yahoo account. for anything other than a spam dump site. I fell out of love with Yahoo and their shenanigans almost two decades ago.

Nah - like so many other things on the internet, I just tend to avoid it where I can. Yahoo had it's day....but Google effectively beat it into obsolescence.
