Despite its strength, OSINT must always be used in an ethical manner. For instance, how can we make sure students learn the distinction between ethical, legal research and intrusive or illegal conduct while we are educating them about reconnaissance techniques?

1. When teaching OSINT, what moral conundrums have you encountered?
2. How can the responsibility associated with this knowledge be made clear to students?

I'd love to know how you tackle this crucial subject!

If I provide instruction on how to think like a hacker, it's only to get the learner to think about some safeguards that would not have come to mind otherwise. The intent is not to encourage hacker behavior - just the mindset!!!

That's my 50 cents worth. Change please!!!!

An Additional to your point you must explain the different type of hat
1. white hat and there function
2. black hat and there function
3. gray hat and there function
with this , it will give them the sense of belonging.

I see. So you're training Jedi with moral character, not Sith Lords? You got it. I'll keep the change because your fifty cents gave me a completely different outlook!

However, in all honesty, knowing the functions of white, black, and gray hats provides students with a strong basis—and perhaps even a good reason to wear a fun hat to class.🎩
