I am looking for some ideas for scenarios that I can give my students for Lesson 4 "Managing an OS" to test their understanding about it. Any suggestions?
I had something about "Patch Tuesday" and had them do a worksheet about what it is and answer some questions about the process. You can also have them look at the security notifications from Apple and Microsoft about OS updates.

Create order slips which every student (i.e Student A) will fill-up, then to be given to other student (Student B) for them to configure.
- the order slip will contain various configuration items i.e. type/version of OS, user accounts, timezone settings, wallpaper to use, size of cursor, etc.
- check the list of configurable items from Control Panel (should be plenty)
You may also then opt to ask your students to turn their desktops into kiosks, which will only allow access to a particular presentation file that the student may create to discuss about that config settings that they did.
