Share slides with students

Are you sharing your CompTIA–provided slideshow with students? These are the PowerPoint slides that most of us tweak for our presentations.

This would be for a Security+ class delivered via Zoom, with recordings available after the class. Your thoughts?

I'm a big tweaker, so I always share a PDF version of any slides that I tweaked with my students. That's probably 20 out of the 21 SY0-601 CertMaster lessons. I don't share PPTs.

Some students benefit from having access to the slide deck to make notes on as you progress through the course.

I highly tweak the slides, but they start out as the ones from CompTIA. We use the CertMaster Learn plus Labs materials so they follow right along with their assignments. I provide a PDF version, not the actual PPTX versions. I make sure to add on the first slide that they were edited by me so that if they make them into someone else's hands they are still credited to CompTIA and myself.

I haven't heard one important term yet in this thread: copyrights.

If the students or their school / institution have not paid for the CompTIA training materials and have only paid for me as instructor, I am not giving them anything. The licensing is not set up and I could be in hot water.

And if they did pay then the students should get the materials via the one organising the training.
