Technical skills such as penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and incident response are essential for success in the field of cybersecurity. But soft skills—like critical thinking, problem solving, reporting, and communication—are sometimes undervalued despite being just as crucial.

How do you support your students in acquiring soft skills in addition to their technical knowledge?

What tasks do you include in your curriculum?

How you manage to develop well-rounded cybersecurity professionals is something I would really like to hear about.

Easy! Ask questions that require them to THINK, and not just regurgitate! Have them to perform hands-on exercises that require them to resolve an issue based on concepts that have been discussed! Have them to work in groups, where each member has a specific responsibility!

What's fostered in this kind of environment is the development of soft skills!!!

I was hoping for a little more than a crash course in "The Basics of Technical vs. Soft Skills 101," but that's certainly an intriguing way to split it down! 😄 I was more interested in learning how you specifically assist students in acquiring those soft skills related to cybersecurity. Would you mind sharing some insights and going beyond the dictionary definition?

I Love your approach—group work, hands-on exercises, and some brain power.... I will just steal all these ideas for my students. Thank you for the pro tips
