This has probably been asked and answered many times, but I am very new to this and am trying to get up to speed ASAP. We will be using real hardware because I have a lot of old hardware and am trying to save the students money so that they do not have to buy virtual labs. Although, the virtual labs I have seen are quite nice. Perhaps we will move in that direction going forward. Given that we will be using live equipment, I think I will be more comfortable with a safety emphasis upfront. What do you do to get safety into their heads? Signs, constant reminders, a test that they pass and sign?
I am watching the TTT for A+. I was really impressed with Walt's explanation of the wrist strap: Do NOT wear wrist strap when working on equipment that is plugged into A/C power. I might even make a sign about that. I have just gotten started in that series and expect to glean many more nuggets of pure wisdom and common sense. Thanks for reading and for any help. --Harvey
