Operating Systems in Module 11

Why does CompTIA even include operating systems in A+ 1202 module 11? I'm not sure what they provide in the module belongs under Managing Support Procedures. Am I just crazy or does anyone else agree? I'm putting that change into CompTIA anyways, but just wanted to get some opinions. And please don't give me that "If your an instructor, then you should take this as an opportunity to inform your students." answer. It's really not helpful.

I understand your point. It would have been good to have 11.3 as a separate Module.

However, I reckon that they placed 11.3 Types of OS under "Managing Support" so that the students would know the various OS that they may need to support, along with the (11.3.6) OS compatibility issues, (11.3.7) Vendor life-cycle limitations) and how it ties up in (11.3.8) managing a support ticket

Meanwhile, did you notice that there's no 11.4? From 11.3, it jumped to 11.5 Additional resources.
The only item that has 11.4 tag is challenge live lab: resolve help desk tickets.

Yeah, I noticed they do that with several modules. I don't really care for it. And they put some of the material in additional resources that I feel should really be placed with the rest of the material instead of being treated as supplemental.

I agree. This would actually be a good topic to discuss during the TTT sessions - How to properly utilize the "supplemental resources" co'z as you stated, the resources should have been part of the main material, not just as supplemental.
Interesting discussion. I also noticed that some topics feel a bit “out of place” in the module structure but at the same time, I think CompTIA wanted to make sure students get at least a basic understanding of OS types and compatibility, since support techs often face these issues in real environments.

It might actually make sense to highlight this during TTT sessions as you suggested — separating the core content from the supplemental resources could make it clearer for both instructors and learners.
