I noticed that getting the first certificate (Proof of Participation) of the TTT for SecurityX is states that my participation is good for 2 CEU credit per hour toward the renewal of your "Cloud+. Does this mean siting the SecurityX exam will renew Cloud+? On the website Renew existing certifications its not listed but I wondered if addition to the name change if that has change.

It does not. You have to either recertify Cloud+ by taking an upgraded exam, or through the CEU process. I did that this year when I took courses for MSFT Azure. Taking both MS900 and SC900 gave me more than enough CEU credit to update my Cloud+. /r

little bit confused here also

Okay, let's see if I can clear this up...

1) Sitting the SecurityX exam does not automatically renew the Cloud+ credential. The only exam that you can take that will automatically renew the Cloud+ is the Cloud+.
2) Sitting the SecurityX exam will provide 25 CEUs towards renewal of Cloud+ if you are using the CE route to renew.
3) Sitting other Cloud+ content-related exams, such as the Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services series of exams will also provide CEUs towards renewing the Cloud+.
4) Attending the TTT for SecurityX will award 2 CEUs credit towards the renewal of Cloud+.

Maybe, we shall have more the policy with CloudNetX for Cloud+. How do you think?

Thank you for clarifications

CompTIA Certmast CE (will this get a new name as well?) is only available for A+, NET+, and SEC+. Have any discussions taken place to broaden the CE program to include additional certifications?
I haven't heard of anything like that - personally, I'd rather go that route - that way, I can go through the refresher training for changes and have the cert at the end. I suspect it's mostly predicated on the Security+ and how the US DoD leans on it very heavily for security certification (DoD 8570/8140).

CompTIA needs to update the CEU information. The Data pathway doesn't allow one cert to renew another, although DataSys+ is good for 13 hours towards A+ CEUs. Cloud+ renews Net+, which renews A+, but CloudNetX doesn't renew anything or give partial credit.

The three Xpert level certs should renew everything in their pathway. SecurityX does, but DataX and CloudNetX don't.

Thank you for the clear explanation.
