New voucher pricing is per-version?

There have been a few threads about this on r/comptia the past week. Like this one ->

Up until very recently, one would always buy an examination voucher for a specific certification. You'd buy a voucher for A+, Net+, Sec+, etc.

But now the shop has vouchers per exam version? And the new A+ exam is actually more expensive? What the heck?

• 1101/1102 vouchers are EUR 228 apiece.
• 1201/1202 vouchers are EUR 244 apiece.

What's even stranger is that, it's been reported on Reddit, you can still use the cheaper 11-series voucher to book a 12-series exam. CompTIA's own FAQ also says this is still true.

CompTIA, you're now just creating needless confusion.

That's what I was expecting: just the annual price hike.

Which is why this confuses the heck out of me. It's the first time I see them make vouchers for two versions (which you can still use for either version) and then apply a price diff there.

It's just so weird.
