New voucher pricing is per-version?

Hi all,

There have been a few threads about this on r/comptia the past week. Like this one ->

Up until very recently, one would always buy an examination voucher for a specific certification. You'd buy a voucher for A+, Net+, Sec+, etc.

But now the shop has vouchers per exam version? And the new A+ exam is actually more expensive? What the heck?

• 1101/1102 vouchers are EUR 228 apiece.
• 1201/1202 vouchers are EUR 244 apiece.

What's even stranger is that, it's been reported on Reddit, you can still use the cheaper 11-series voucher to book a 12-series exam. CompTIA's own FAQ also says this is still true.

CompTIA, you're now just creating needless confusion.

Yes I have seen this as well, surprisingly booking 220-1201 with 220-1101 voucher it's working.

Well, CompTIA would raise prices on things each year, so that's not unusual. Odd about version pricing, but maybe if that's the case, the version and voucher will follow each other.

That's what I was expecting: just the annual price hike.

Which is why this confuses the heck out of me. It's the first time I see them make vouchers for two versions (which you can still use for either version) and then apply a price diff there.

It's just so weird.
