I have a Client who is looking for help. He has Learners getting ready to write Core1 220-1100 and Core Core 2 220-1102 but he has asked me to do a test for them that will give an indecaion that they are ready to write the exam both core 1 and Core 2. WE dont need to worry with PBQs ,Just question test question .

So, it sounds like you're looking for practice testing for these exams, yes? There would seem to be a wide range of practice testing options out there.

Is there something you're specifically wanting? Because it would seem that all you might need is something like CertMaster Practice or maybe a third party's practice question bank (just avoid all the Certification Trendz stuff - that's all braindumpy material).

I recommend MeasureUp

I also recommend CyberVista (formerly Kaplan IT, Transcender)

You can also try Boson

The Sybex books from Wiley Publishing are rather solid

I used to use CyberVista for a while. Their questions weren't quite certification grade in the years we used them. I would say they are more on par with CompTIA's review questions from Learn and Labs, in terms of difficulty. Good for ramping up, but not so great if trying to evaluate for test readiness.

I always liked Sybex' materials. I'm with Greg here - well put together. I used to review them when I wrote for MCP Magazine/Redmond/1105...wayyyyy back in the day.

I am not a salesperson, and I know this sounds like a pitch, but I really like CertMaster Practice as a practice exam tool. I have been using it for CompTIA certs I have taken, and to me, it really does a good job, especially with the reinforcement on missed questions. If you have not purchased anything yet, I would suggest taking a look at it.

I have used the CompTIA official curriculum, which I guess is now called CertMaster Learn, for 20 years. I find it to be comprehensive and easy to understand.

The CertMaster Labs are better today than they've ever been. The CertMaster Practice is hit or miss. Some questions are intentionally misleading or tricky. I have found that if I get higher than 60% on the practice exams, I'm almost assured of passing the actual exam.

I'm going to recommend the Twilight Episode, "One for the Angels" for you Steve. I'll be the guy in the black suit...because, of course I'm the guy in the black suit.

I used Transcender back in the day to get my MCSE.
Transcender used to be the gold standard. It was said that if you could pass a Transcender exam, proper, you would definitely pass the live exam. But I think they started deteriorating when they were bought by Kaplan, incorporated, and then spun back out as CyberVista. I tried to jump in as a question contributor - until I got too busy to develop and had to pull back from that. As I said before, the questions are good for reinforcement of concepts, but in the years that I assessed them, they weren't certification grade. So I used them for what they were - good for students to build confidence in concepts. A key question type that was missing are the good old GAS questions.

I'll agree that CertMaster has been getting better and better - I remember CertMaster 1.0, even. I like CMP, but I always worry that I'm not adequately prepared, even if I finish all the CMP questions and can tell you why the other answers are wrong. And then I go take a test and get an 800-900 or something. I stress myself out so much, because I hate to fail anything (and only did it once).

I've commented on this a couple times, an analysis on "Validating" vs. "Sharpening", so I'm going to just link back to the better one - rather than typing it out again. :p
