I seem to recall that DataX was originally going to be called DataSci+ because it is a data science certification.

Has anyone heard if CompTIA plans to give full or partial credit for CEU renewal by passing a higher-level CompTIA data analytics certification? Will DataSys+ give full or partial credit for CEUs for Data+? Will DataX give full or partial credit for CEUs for DataSys+ and/or Data+?

No one knows how many points any of the questions are worth, and anyone who claims to know is speculating. I answer all the questions. I just prefer to answer the quick M/C questions first and save the longer PBQs until later.

I tell them they need one good exam prep book, one good class, and one good practice exam. They should research those independently if they have any difficulties with any individual topics.

I don't use chapters because some are longer than others.

Take the number of pages of the book (or the slide deck if you don't have a book). Divide the number by five. That is how much you should cover per day. By any means necessary.

PBQs take longer to answer than M/C questions. I do all the M/C questions first, preferably spending no more than 30-40 seconds on each and then use the remaining time on the PBQs. I usually end the exam with plenty of time to spare.

I tell current college students and college graduates that a degree guarantees nothing. They still have to get experience, and that usually starts at the bottom.

You have to attend every session of a train-the-trainer session for the exam.

Server+ is a good for life certification that never has to be renewed and doesn't need CEUs.

Isn't that a copyright infringement to post a PDF of someone else's content? They sell that on Amazon.

There are several pages that need to be updated. The CEU page doesn't list how many CEUs are required to renew DataX. The pages that give CEUs for passing CompTIA exams make no mention of DataX. The page showing which non-CompTIA certifications grant CEUs makes no mention of DataX.

We can verify certifications rather easily. CompTIA, ISACA, ISC2, Microsoft, et. al. keep full information on active certifications. We can verify work experience. ISACA and ISC2 require documentation and confirmation that a person has a role where their work is covered in the domain...

I only use TryHackMe for PenTest+. I've found that to be true for every CompTIA course. I get people with no technical experience taking CySA+ or beyond. CompTIA should start enforcing prerequisites. Failure to do so is doing a disservice to the students. Too many unscrupulous training...
