I know what you mean. I have a wide array of machines that I have for different purposes, testing, and such - I think I have about 10-15 at any given time. Sometimes bouncing between different systems gets confusing, but for me, it's one of the few ways I have to stay sharp - although I'm...

For me, a pristine environment (virtual or physical) that I'd use to validate the student experience, is what I've always done - that way, I can run what I want for how I do my work without having to worry about those things, to me, is the way to go.

Oh geez - I'm barely finding time to mess with the Commodore emulators that are packaged in Vision OS, let alone start wandering about with another system platform.

A well written job req post. Thank you for being detailed - most we get don't even differentiate between on-site and online...lol. /r

Well, my disdain for Microsoft has developed over the course of decades of using their products and feeling constrained by Redmond in doing things. They weren't always that way. But these days, they have gotten very much controlling of the Windows environment. I get tickets and complaints...

Gotcha - so it's more of a review than an initial teach. That changes things quite a bit. In the trade school demographic, we're not commonly dealing with 'advanced/AP' students. Many of them have GED's or are veterans looking for a new career, or are working some kind of job. Working...

Actually, as a member of the CompTIA Partner program, I have access to all the vouchers that I can use. I'm not sure if your school is a CompTIA Academic Partner - you (or your administrator, etc etc) might want to reach out to your Business Manager and see what your status is.

Um, yeah...? The question I would have to ask is how much did the students actually retain in all that? Our school uses 12 weeks to go through both sides of the A+, including dedicated laboratory time. I can't conceive of packing all that into 20 hours of time we have or even a 40 hour boot...

So, following up on my Omarchy experiments: 1) The Optiplex 7070 running Omarchy screams. It's pretty great. I had one guy ask me about running Plex on it. Seems that's a thing - running Plex servers with Arch, so they're not saddled with bloat. 2) I did manage to get Omarchy on the...

Thanks for that - and I don't mind the hiccups for sure. I tell people now that I run Linux but support Windows. It is sad that there are still a few things out there that Linux can't quite do effectively - or with out extreme amounts of configuration. What's funny is that I reminded a...

Hi Shane: So my understanding here is that everyone who had the Project+ or Server+ credentials were automatically awarded the CE designation as a separate certification entry. Mine are set to expire on 12-30-2028. I also have a separate set of credentials that are Good for Life (GFL). So...

I'd tell you how I feel, but this *is* a PG rated board and not everyone appreciates my very unique sense of humor.

I tried using it, personally and found it was tougher than just using the website, IMAO. In most applications, I think the website does just fine. The ONLY thing I wish we could get on the CIN boards are pinned posts on the Home feed. That way, important posts about TTT's (not my ramblings...

I've gotten into arguments now with folks who are stuck in the Microslop cult, which now is being led by Slopilot. And I've been tinkering with Omarchy as of yesterday...loaded it on a couple machines. It's not very peppy on my Dell Chromebook 3400 - which I've learned is very reliant on the...

So as I sit here writing Anthology reports and installing Omarchy on an old OptiPlex 7070, and trying to work on my SC300 MSFT learning, I can hear Redmond crying now... Okay, not really, but @jasoneckert should appreciate the joke. But I thought I'd share with all of you the next steps on the...

Blame these guys:

Good work!

Locked and loaded. I took DataSys v1 and actually enjoyed doing that one. Looking forward to DS2. /r

Congrats on the win. What's next on the list?

Counseling? Nah. I'll just convince any therapist that Linux is better and Microsoft will lose more business - which...may not be a half bad idea. Mostly, those that slink back to Windows usually aren't ready for the commitment of having to relearn all the muscle memory keystrokes and shortcuts...
