    Holding AI Accountable

Reasonable, to me, is one of these very subjective terms that seems to get pulled back and forth, based on monetary stake. Yes, there are weirdos out there who actually *like* cold coffee, but I'm at least smart enough to not jam a screwdriver in my eye and think it's Craftsman's fault if I do...

where are the linux+ v8 Certmaster Study Instructor videos?

Are you sure you're properly licensed for instructor access into the Linux+ Certmaster? As I understand it, there is no different product - it's based on your access key, so if you're a student, you see student stuff - instructor, instructor stuff. Are you using the Certmaster offering that...

    I did it!

I know, for me, as a staunch non-conformist and contrarian, I have often said, "I'm so done with Windoze - I'm going Linux". And there are points where I have tried to make that conversion, with the belief that there's nothing I can do with Windows that I cannot get done with Linux. Except...

    Holding AI Accountable

Yeah, those that know me, know that I'm not the biggest fan of Skynet. There are definitely some things in the AI world that are making people defer to it, rather that traditional methods of getting help. However, to me, this seems much like blaming the screwdriver manufacturer for injury...

Need a Gift Idea - Be sure to SKIP this one

You're right about that, pally. That's why the social media companies rake in tons of cash while taking your most valuable asset - your time, while doom-scrolling the AI slop and half-baked narcissistic content from twenty-somethings who aren't smart enough to get IT certifications.

    Linux+ Exam Voucher

There's nothing in the On24 platform that I can see when a participant watched a particular video - only perhaps when the completed the video and earned their certificate (which is why I always tell people to get their certificate right then and there, in case there is a discrepancy. CompTIA's...

    Linux+ Exam Voucher

Did you *just* complete them? Because if so, I'm afraid you wouldn't qualify for a voucher. You would have needed to complete all the sessions by October 23 (two weeks after the last scheduled session) in order to qualify.

Yeah, just make sure you use your alternative alias - the one that purports you to be a 50-something Innuit woman with ten kids, living near Nome, Alaska.

Exactly. I have a plum, pineapple, cherry, raspberry, and grape pyment that are now aging nicely.

Krebs had a great posting regarding the Superbox, supposedly, to provide free streaming access to just about everything you can imagine. But...when it's free, YOU are the product. The sad thing about it is that folks are going to probably buy these things up. Meanwhile, it might be an...

One of these days, I'll perhaps retire myself. When I do, I shall take off my fedora, go into the country, and write Japanese haiku... ...without the aid of a laptop or ChatGPT. /r

    Linux+ XK0-006 vs. 005...?

Given your background and experience, I don't think you're going to have much of a problem with 006. Pretty sure you brushed up on containers (Docker/Kubernetes/etc) and all the fun that entails, as well as AI topics. I think you'll be fine. Good luck and have fun with the exam. /r

Students Keep Asking for Social Media Postings

We had a training house here in Colorado Springs that promised A+, Net+, and Sec+ in 20 weeks. I laughed out loud, but was a little angry because unless the student is remarkably astute or has had prior training, there's no way you get all that in 20 weeks. That company is no longer in...

What happened with the Tech Trainer options that were discussed in 2023?

Well, the challenge is that, frankly, they're a business and they have to at least make enough revenue to pay their people, even if it focuses on marketing the brand into the industry. I think it's easy to armchair quarterback the problem, but none of us know, truly, what goes on in the...

What happened with the Tech Trainer options that were discussed in 2023?

I'm afraid a lot of things adjusted over the last few years, with the acquisition of LabSim, the divestiture of the training business from the membership organization and the like. Such is the nature of business. Those of us in Higher Ed, particularly in the For-Profit side of the house, see...
