An anonymizer is a tool that makes it harder to trace a user's online activity, by hiding their identity.

How it works
- An anonymizer acts an intermediary between a user's device and the Internet, masking the user's IP address,
and other identifying information. This makes it appear as if the user is browser from a different location

Types of anonymizers
- Anonymizers can take the form of proxies, VPNs, or special networks like Tor. Each method offers different
levels of security.

Uses
- Anonymizers can be used for:
  • Bypassing geographic restrictions
  • Online privacy
  • Accessing blocked resources
  • Preserving anonymity

Limitations
- Not all anonymizers provide complete anonymity, and some may have limitations or security risks. Anonymization is not
foolproof, and there is always a risk that sensitive data could be re-identified or de-anonymized.

Anonymizer! The term is new to me in context of Cybersecurity. What about you?

Is this covered in any CompTIA course? If so, which one?

I promised to be up to date but I can't help but to tell you CompTIA Security plus SY0-601

5.5 Explain privacy and sensitive data concepts in relation to security-Anonymous
SYO-701 is the actual Version used. 601 is EOL.
Tor is a form of Proxy Chaining.
Public VPN companies know, where you are surfing to. since they control the VPN Endpoint. (and the Entry Point). Espacially free VPN Offers.
Agency try to install TOR Entry and Exit Nodes, so they may find out who is surfing where.

Tails is missing as an OS Version.

TRUE-SY0-701 is an up to date version.... I was lost since I was looking for exact word "Anonymous" rather than anything associated with anonymous like VPN or TOR.... Here I go for VPN.... N10-009 Objective 3.5

The community knows that you're aware of SY0-701 being the most recent version of Security+ - don't defend that!!! You just have some emotional attachment with SY0-601, and you're just not ready to say goodbye to it yet :)

Thank you for adding to the elevation of the community's knowledge!!!

701 launched November 7, 2023, so 601 was EOL somewhere in June this year. But you had more then one year to learn, that 701 is Up to date..
Traner should know that, when standing before a class, not mention always: oh, but in 601 it was like this...

I have six different versions of the Security+ exam out of the seven that have been released. While many of the topics carry over from one version to the next, all certifications must evolve with the times, which means we trainers should evolve as well.
