Hey everyone, this is a NEW forum launched in response to our Instructor Toolbox Series Webinar from 9-29-2021. Please feel free to send ANY and all questions regarding the CertMaster Suite of products (CertMaster Learn, CompTIA/CertMaster Labs, CertMaster Practice). The Sales Support team is here and ready to support. As mentioned on the webinar, we are also here for your current and future training needs, whether it be training individuals or teams on our products and platforms. We look forward to working with all of you!

Is there instructor pricing for Certmaster learn/labs? I tried to make a purchase through the CompTIA Academic store and it wanted student verification.
Hi there, as part of the Organization/Business License purchase, you will receive FREE access as an Instructor. When the purchase is made, please make sure that "Instructor-Led Study" is selected on the left side of the page. With the Organization/Business license product you are also provided Admin setup. This is where the Admin (yourself or someone else) at your organization would be able to grant you access (FREE) as an Instructor. Any questions please let us know

What about when I want to prepare for a Fall 22 course and we have not sent licensing to administration yet? Is there not an "instructor verification" option to purchase the content at a partner discount instead of the 30-day review?

Yes, essentially what you could do is purchase the Organization/Business license, qty of 1, and we could grant you all of the permissions and access that way to get started ahead of time. The other option would be to put you directly in contact with your CompTIA Salesperson, there are some other options we could pursue to grant you access ahead of time as well. If you are not sure who your CompTIA contact is, please send us a note directly at [email protected] and we can help make that connection

Concluding teaching a semester-long Security+ course next week, I'm pleased with the result of both the CompTIA Student Guide and the CompTIA labs. For the spring semester, I'm utilizing the CySA+ resources provided by CompTIA and I've been working in advance, making sure that their content works effectively with the Canvas LMS environment we are strongly suggested to use for colleges in the California community college system.

As a side note, is anyone teaching a CySA+ course this next semester and willing to help create supplemental content? This worked out well this past summer where I had a couple of instructors help in the development of supplemental assignments (e.g. TryHackMe, etc.). You can reach me at [email protected].

Hey Steve - Not sure if you saw this but here's a shameless plug for The Black Fedora's Cyber Cache. You probably have all these resources in your notes, but if there's anything helpful in there, or you have something to add, well, it's there for everyone to use.

Good to see you out there again, mate.

Rick, et al. I'm heading into the end of the semester, evaluating what's next. Frankly, I'm missing the physical classroom, not seeing the light bulb go on in the eyes of my students. Zoom, while better than nothing, just doesn't cut it. I'm teaching a single class in the spring, down from the five I'm teaching this fall. The bottom line is I'm getting close to partially pulling the plug (aka retirement), focusing more on volunteer activities as I head towards leaving the workforce.

You're not alone in this. I know when I walk around our college, I miss the buzz from having various students walk around. Before, I used to look forward to empty halls for that week, so we could rejuvenate and get some projects done. Now, when it's all I really ever see, well, I'm sorry, but this total move to trying to do education online, to me, sucks.

I get it. Covid - online was necessary. But that was two years ago and things are much different now. Then there's the cost savings by not having to have a facility to upkeep/manage, so executives are all about doing that. But what is lost is the connection - connecting students to the instructor in a way that actually lets real education happen.

Because you're so right, Steve. What this is, these days, is not really education in my book. More like "facilitation". And I personally don't care much for it.
