Ideally how much time do you need, prior to the exam launch, to review the new exam objectives and prepare for your course?
I answered 1-2 months in the assumption that the query on new exam is for an existing certification course that is already being delivered.
The timeframe may take longer if it is for a new course & exam altogether, as we needed to not only prepare for the contents, but also need to check delivery plan, trainer skills/competencies, labs, student materials, etc.

It's about the same for me as well - 1-2 months. Depends on how much stuff that CompTIA decided to change 
Probably the biggest time sink, for me, is building meaningful labs and playtesting them.

Ideally it'd be 1-2 months, but because teaching is something I do part-time I really do need a lot more leeway.
I prefer to give myself at least 6 months. By doing this, I can handle any unscheduled issues that may arise.
