Making the Case - CySA/PenTest level certs for entry level IT personnel

So, the question that that I will post as my inaugural question to CIN is:

Does CySA+ and PenTest+ make sense for the student in the 0-2 year space? New, freshmeat candidates coming into the field, stacking up ITF+, A+, Net+, Sec+ - yes, it's pretty justifiable. But what about the next level - CySA and PT? So far, what I've heard is that incident management is becoming more of a mainstream competency, which isn't so much covered in Sec+, but is heavily covered in CySA.

Thoughts?

If Pentest+ and CySA+ are for 3 to 4 years experience, where does CompTIA see this fitting in with community colleges? Students are not going to have 3 - 4 years industry experience.

Dana - True story, but much the same can be said for A+ which is 1 year experience, or Sec+ which is 2-3 years...?
