Sorry, I'm new here so I'm not sure if this has been addressed. I've seen a tentative release for the N10-008 Network+ Exam for August 2021. However, does anyone know if there will also be the usual 6 to 8 month overlap in Exam options before the N10-007 is completely retired and one can no longer sit for that one? Any input would be very helpful. Thank you.

CompTIA's general policy is to retire an exam, 3 years after launch. The coronapocalypse sort of muddled that up some (particularly with Server+). I would probably expect 007 to finally retire in March 2022. At present, CompTIA has never *not* had the overlap period, so I would be pretty safe to assume you'll have six months after 008's launch before 007 is done.

What happens if the student writes the 007 exam before it expires in June.

Is the certification still valid?
Yes. Why should it not? CE starts with the Date of passing that Exam. Exam is no longer availabel after retirement. For a defined period of time students can choose between the old and new Version of the Exams.
