    Hello CIN:

So, given that we have taken on some new CIN members this week for Partner Summit as well as over the last month, this post is ONLY for posters that have less than 20 posts total. Anyone can like, but for this thread, I'm asking only new members to post. Let's see who comes up!

    Suggested Reply Ideas

    1) Who are you, for whom do you teach/work?

    2) What is your current certification that you're working?

    3) What kind of success stories do you have from where you're working?

In short, this is a "getting to know you" post. But as I said, it's only for the newbies in CIN - to get them posting.

    Let's hear it!

    Hello!

My name is Brandi Nguyen and I teach the first year students at iCSI, the Institute of CyberSecurity and Innovation.

I just got my Security+ certification. I’m working on getting my Tech+ certification, so I can be prepared for when my students take it.

One success story is my student, Joseph. He moved here from Iraq and was one of my top students who earned his ITF+ and Network+ certification. He has since enrolled at UTSA to get his computer engineering degree. I was the teacher he selected for his Summa Cum Laude celebration for his high school graduation.

I’m happy to be here. Thanks Rick for the encouragement !

    Hi Rick,

I had such fun at the conference this year, met some new friends and got to see a lot of old ones.

    1) Who are you, for whom do you teach/work? My name's Laurie Seeder, I teach at LSU Eunice in Eunice, LA. It's a two-year university and the only one in the state of Louisiana.

    2) What is your current certification that you're working? I do not know that answer to that question yet, but I should know something soon.

    3) What kind of success stories do you have from where you're working? I started with one product with TestOut back in 2018 and loved the user-friendly platform and the people that work there. Felt like family from day one and I just grew from there. I've since introduced the products to several other schools in the Louisiana and other states (when I've gone to different conferences), and to two other instructors at LSUE. My students love the product because they get some practical virtual skills experience in actually being able to not just read some dry information; but see the parts and offices and exhibits on what they will eventually be working on. In the past few years, my final exam is the certification exam (and another instructor has begun doing that with her classes as well), with over 2K students enrolled in courses, with over 200 certifications awarded.

    4) I can't think of anything else to say about myself.

There's more you can say about yourself - you're just being modest!!!

Who are you, for whom do you teach/work?

My name is Jose. I teach cybersecurity and IT topics at EDP University of Puerto Rico, and AGM University Online Campus in Orlando where I also help develop courses and align them with CompTIA official curriculum as we are a full academic partner.

What is your current certification that you're working on?

I currently hold CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Cloud+, CySA+, Pentest+, and CASP+, as well as MCSA, MCT, and Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP). I’m now working on the Cloud+ certification along with the Microsoft AZ-800 and AZ-801 hybrid server certifications, with help from my employer who provides access to the CertMaster / TestOut catalog.

What kind of success stories do you have from where you're working?

While teaching I helped many students get certified, many of them now have successful IT careers. I really enjoy my work at AGMU Online, we are working along with CompTIA and Leonard Wadewitz to develop a Cybersecurity Certificate that uses 100% Cert Master / Test Out resources so the guys can get certified at the end of their studies. I have a few decades of hands-on experience in setting up and troubleshooting networks, implementing security measures, and conducting vulnerability assessments. Worked many years in the IT / Security segment of the banking industry. Additionally, I consult on legal cases, offer expert testimony, and run cybersecurity workshops. I'm at ABD status on a Doctorate in Technology Applications for Global Logistics and Distribution.

My first official meet was in Atlanta, where I met Lee McWorther and James Stanger, really cool people. looking forward to other opportunities to meet more of you guys in the near future!

I work for Acquire Centre, with instructors with over 15 years' experience in IT in Nigeria.

We are official CompTIA Partners, offering a wide range of courses (A+, Net+, Sec+, DataSys+, Data+, Project+, amongst others.) trying to spread awareness for the need of certifications in the IT sector in Nigeria.

We are also a recognized Pearson VUE testing center, where people can take their certification exams

    - What is your current certification that you're working?
I have a huge interest in Cybersecurity, and I'm working on applications to get my Masters in that field.

    - What kind of success stories do you have from where you're working?
We have had lots of students who have come to us for training in various fields (Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Project Management, etc.) that have been able to utilize the value in our course offerings and advance their careers, especially those in the IT sector or looking to transition into it.
