It seems similar to how the Cloud+ progressed from v1 to v2 to v3

you might have enjoyed CySA+ v2 non beta better.

That's an interesting analysis of the beta. I didn't take the beta for this new version (so many certs, so little time), but I felt the current version was a tad easier than the latest Security+. I don't know, maybe I was just better prepared for CySA+, although I went in convinced I was going to fail it and surprised myself by passing.
