Hello CINners,

Got a couple a questions regarding Password Managers.

Q1. Is Password Manager covered on any of the CompTIA exams?

Q2. If you use a Password Manager, which one do you use? I would
have included a couple of names in my question, but I don't want to
influence anyone.

Thanks CINners!

I don't know that CompTIA would provide any specific platform managers, given their vendor-neutral perspective.

I myself have used 1Password in the past, but stopped using it since it's a non-US company that manages it - and I tend to restrict my security tools to things developed and managed in the USA for my own work.

Password managers are covered in CompTIA certifications, such as Tech+, A+ Core 2, and Security+. Examples may be provided, however as @Rick Butler pointed our, since CompTIA is vendor neutral there will not be emphasis on a specific brand of manager. I think they all have good and bad aspects.

Interested in what other have to say about what works for them.

Thank you Mr. Butler for your response. 1Password was definitely one of the names I expected to see. Thanks for sharing that it's a non-US company. I was not aware of that!!!

"MyBrain.exe" is the name of the top-secret, highly confidential password manager that I use. I use LastPass, and sometimes I trust it more than my own memories.

MyBrain.exe? Never heard of this one.

I've heard of LastPass, but I wasn't expecting that one to appear in anyone's post.
As long as I don't forget my own passwords, MyBrain.exe is the safest password manager. I suppose I've been fortunate with LastPass because I don't really use "FortKnox123" for my passwords, which may be why I'm still surviving the security breach!
