VXLAN Deployment

Shall we call in a referee or just settle it over a cup of coffee and some packet captures?
We are gentlemen! If there's any disagreement, we will settle it with a gentleman's agreement :)

Of course, if there is any disagreement, the argument won't be with me - it will be with the
authority. There can NEVER be argument with the authority!!!

Anyway, a cup of green tea and some packet captures is always welcomed by men when having
engaging in an elevating discussion :)

I understand! You bring the packet captures, I'll deliver the tea, and we'll let the authorities make the final decision. if they're not too preoccupied with drinking their own tea!😊

The final decision has already been made - that's why they are the authorities! When you take a state's Bar Exam, you don't get a chance to debate the answer to the question - either you're correct or incorrect!!! There's a team that develops the exam, and examinees don't change what that team has deemed appropriate/correct. Sorry :-(

True - We can't debate with the authorities... The only thing we can argue over is who is making the next round of tea

Hello CINners,

I wanted to throw a little something in the direction of your networking types, to
see where you are with a certain subject. Got a couple of questions:

Question 1: What are the three (3) main ways to deploy VXLAN?

Answer:
  • Host-Based VXLAN
  • Gateway-Based VXLAN
  • Hybrid Deployment
Question 2: When deploying VXLAN, the method used is based on what?

When deploying VXLAN, the method used is based on several factors:
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Scalability Requirements
  • Performance and Latency
  • Security and Isolation
  • Operational Complexity

I like the response to the first question. You get the points for that. Those do represent the three main ways to deploy VXLAN.

Regarding the 2nd question, I'm not rewarding any points for that one!!!

My answer to the 2nd question is: The method for deploying VXLAN is based on where the VTEP is located.

This discussion is CLOSED!!!!
