    Hello Ciners :D

I took the exam last night Onvue from home

    My Experience

As usual with most CompTIA exams started with some time wasting performance based questions( drag and drop- click) then moved on with multichoice to pick one or 2 options

I had a Linux virtual machine lab( the machine loads and you are given some questions to answer- username/password given and given a task to perform)

above was between at about 30 question mark -- total exam question was 84 questions

Was a thorough exam though - prep material was basically the CertPerform material and test question available there -

Prepared in about 7-8 days back to back study -

The result isnt shown at the end of the exam ( you will be told this at the beginning) - its also a Pass/Fail exam - no score

At the end of the exam - once you check up your exam history from PearsonVue you can see if you passed/failed..

normally as usual your credly badge comes in about 12hrs or so after exam is concluded

    All the best.

I'm presently reviewing Dion's SecurityX offering - I got about 3/4 way through the CertMaster before my key from TTT expired. Activated it and got busy. But the thing I've noted is, for me, the Udemy offering gives me an audio listening component, where CertMaster doesn't do this (which allows me to listen while driving).

I'll probably do my re-test in December - too much on the plate to focus on it right now. lol

Congrats. I had a similar experience last month when I took the test. I wanted to take a practice test and have an idea of how close I was to passing, but with the pass/fail and no score, that put a wrench in my plans. I ended up not studying as much, but I had a second attempt if needed, so I figured I would go for it. It is weird waiting a day to get the results, but I understand.

Only one more certification to go for me. If I get it done before February, when they launch the new AI certification, I can say I have them all for a short period of time.

I passed the CAS-004 CASP+ in April 2022 and the CAS-005 SecurityX in July 2025. I didn't study for either one, and during the exam, I skipped the virtual machine question both times. I already had six different versions of the Sec+, three different versions of the CySA+, and PenTest+. If you've got Sec+/CySA+/PenTest+, the SecurityX exam isn't' that difficult.

I've also been teaching various cybersecurity courses since 2005, so it's something I go over regularly. I've also got the CISM and CISSP. Plus, I've worked for SIEM company and I currently work for an NDR company. Other than the hands-on exams from OffSec, I'd have a pretty good chance of passing any cybersecurity exam at this point in my career.

My next exam is DataX, assuming I can find some time to study for it. I'm a cyber guy, not a data guy, even though I have Data+ and DataSys+. Those were relatively easy, but DataX is a whole different animal.

Yes if you have been mentoring for some years- there is a whole lot of content overlap - what made me commit 7 days to it was cos of the no score- pass or fail - :D

You have an amazing cert arsenal by way!!! Bravo

Those certs happened because I've been doing this for a very long time. Now I'm focused on branching out to areas outside my comfort zone.

DataX was a stretch for me as well. It was an interesting test. I choose to spend time studying for that. I did it in reverse order. I took time with DataX, and then with SecurityX a few weeks later, as time wasn't really needed. https://www.credly.com/badges/50b912c7-4b38-419a-8995-ec4dafa41117/public_url
