Linux+ XK0-006 vs. 005...?

Fellow trainers, we all have our strengths and weaknesses. While I have used Linux for many years, I have never been overly proficient. I am taking the exam tomorrow, and I want to ask... how different will this exam be from the previous version? Is there anything I should be worried about? I ask because I had previously prepared for the previous version but never got around to it, and now I am nervous going into the exam.

Given your background and experience, I don't think you're going to have much of a problem with 006. Pretty sure you brushed up on containers (Docker/Kubernetes/etc) and all the fun that entails, as well as AI topics. I think you'll be fine.

Wait a second... there are IT topics in Linux+?? I must have missed that

For the record: You are right, I brushed up on Docker and stuff. I did get one AI question. I had NO fun with the exam, was 100% convinced when I pressed END that I had failed. How I actually passed (and by a decent margin) I will never know! But alas, I have to teach the course this week, so I suppose failure was NOT an option

That's probably why I'm taking so much time to study for the version 8 exam. The last thing I want to do is fail a beginner exam after years of working on Linux since 2007.

I've now passed 77 exams, but please remember that until a few years ago I was nearly exclusively a Microsoft guy. Yes, I played with Linux 25 years ago, and I use Kali and Parrot for cybersecurity stuff... but I never managed the disks or or users or containers or users (I mean managing users in a day to day environment, not just creating accounts). I also haven't used Linux servers too much since 2004.

Jason you know I have always had great respect for you. I didn't have nearly enough time to study so I mostly went through the courseware and the labs, but had I thought of it ahead of time... YOU MAN!!!

Its always the top students who worry like this because its embarrassing to fail when everyone knows you know enough to teach the course.
All I can say is RELAX - you will be ok. Will you get a 100% probably not, but a pass is a pass. But anyone can have a bad day too - no sleep/worrying about something unrelated to the exam/not feeling well. So if you are doing 80%+ on the study materials you are probably ready.

Use the same good test taking strategies that you should be teaching your students - like skip over the PBQs & do as many questions as you can as quickly as you can and flagging any that slow you down to come back to later after you have done the lion's share of the questions.
Then, now that your head is focused on the exam info, go back & finish all the flagged ones, THEN divide the remaining time on equally on the PBQs & finish with a flourish & expect to pass!

I remind my students that the guy who graduates last in his med school class is called Doctor, and that nobody will ever see your score reports... unless you are an instructor showing them they don't have to be perfect. I did not lose sleep but I did have a lot on my mind and I still passed, and I'll take it.

Thank you! Yes, I have failed Microsoft a lot, VMware a couple of times (renewals only)... but never a CompTIA, ISC2, or CSA exam. As for keeping records... how could I not? It is so important to measuring one's progression
