I finally buckled down and took the Linux+ and passed it today. It took some extra study but after I let the 005 get away from me I swore to myself I wouldn't let it happen again. HUGE thanks to @Stephen Schneiter, Jason Eckert's great TTT and the amazing CIN network for the voucher. Watching the expiration timer tick down on it gave me the kick in the pants I needed to finish!

Exam went quite well, I had studied for the 005 but never took it. Process of elimination seemed more important than in most of the core exams. I use Linux in the context of Sec+ regularly and did much better than I expected. I scored an 873.Congratulationsto you, how was the exam?
Certmaster labs was a great help. I also use a home lab for a lot of the practical application stuff.
You beat me by a mile! However I think there is something to be said for someone who once had trouble understanding octal permissions scoring 777 on this one!
I'm working on the same myself right now! Watching that ticket wind down is something!! I definitely don't want to let certs expire like I have done in the past anymore.
My name's Peter and I live in Johannesburg and South Africa I'm looking for some advice on the Pen test version 3 I have now written it a couple of times and I'm just not getting anywhere near the postmark I am obviously have labs and the books now I don't know why .Any advice Please have all the other certs done just this.
