I don`t know, if you read the Registration for the upcoming Pentest TTT:

NEW in 2022! In order to qualify to receive an exam voucher as part of the CIN TTT series you will need to be an active CIN member and a CompTIA training partner. More details will be provided during Session 1 of the series.

Would like to know how to solve that before the Sessions starts.
Anyone done that as a Freelancer yet?

This will be a big change for the TTTs..

Maybe Mr. @Stephen Schneiter shall help to clarify this information for us. I have just seen the requirement about CIN Member when have registered Pentest+ TTT only.

Hi @Michael Schmitz, not a problem for freelancers. We do have a several that are in the community and participate. The only requirement for members is to let your CompTIA contact know you are a freelance instructor teaching CompTIA certs. It allows everyone to know who is active in teaching. It may be possible your CompTIA contact may be able to support you in your training offerings.

We are only trying to curb the influx of people trying to take advantage of our program for instructors. We are not going to penalize any legitimate instructors. Happy to discuss if there are any questions or concerns.

It makes sense that you're trying to curb the influx. From day 1 since I've been here, I was wondering how this TTT-system wasn't getting abused to pieces. I mean, this is a public and open forum; anyone can join. I know I did back then!

    Am I a trainer? Yes.
Am I a CompTIA partner? In no way, shape or form.
Have I abused the TTT-system? Absolutely not.
Do I highly value being in close contact with you, Stephen and colleagues? Absolutely yes.

    Hello Tess,
you mean, it is getting time for a recognized official CompTIA Trainer Application Process, so that the TTT/CIN is more for a closed group?
And the CompTIA Instructor is more recognized?
Application to the CIN is moderated, as far as i remember..

I don't know if that is the direction which CompTIA would like to take with this group. If so, that'd be cool and understandable. It means lots less abuse by J. Random Drive-by. But it'll also limit the interaction on this forum.

Plus, I'd actually need to consider whether I want to pay the official partnership stuff. I probably won't.

    Hello Tess,
meaning a Certification Process does not mean, it has to be a high fee or a fee at all for a Trainer Programm.
There are different Values that are already available.
For me, i would accept something like a 50% Voucher after following the TTT Sessions, or pay a small fee each Year as recognized Trainer.

To make it clear: this is my opinion and hypothecial speaking. I don`t know if CompTIA plans or wants to introduce a more formal Process or Program for CompTIA instructors. That is up to CompTIA.

Rodney, it would be nice to include some from the People outside here around. But it is up to the Vendor.
Microsoft, HP, VMware or ECCouncil (others available) also ask them not much about these Business decisions, (like yearly fee or what exams are required).
Happy if it stays like this, will wait to see what happens. but as we see, Changes are coming.

Sure. Microsoft or HPE make Money on other Areas, but still Training and Certification is no "Loose Money" Business. For Microsoft im Sure.
ECC or CompTIA are mainly in the Certification Business. And as a Trainer for both i can say (and Certnexus):
They offer different Benefits for their Trainers. But i would rank CompTIA here Number 1 in Support of Trainers with Access to Ressources..
But we are going Offtopic here.
