I am teaching this class and discovered a glaring mistake in the slides. Who can I report this to?
When I found an error in the labs I opened a support ticket and they corrected it in the system. I'd probably start that way. https://help.comptia.org/hc/en-us/requests/newI am teaching this class and discovered a glaring mistake in the slides. Who can I report this to?
Thanks! I created a ticket. We'll see if they respond, but I have done what I can, and corrected the slides for myself. When I found an error in the labs I opened a support ticket and they corrected it in the system. I'd probably start that way. https://help.comptia.org/hc/en-us/requests/new
What was the error you found? Thanks! I created a ticket. We'll see if they respond, but I have done what I can, and corrected the slides for myself.
The list of non-routable IP ranges (both the Network ID and the Mask) were completely wrong... and different from every other CompTIA slide I've ever seen (which I know to be correct). What was the error you found?
Do you remember which lesson and slide number it was?The list of non-routable IP ranges (both the Network ID and the Mask) were completely wrong... and different from every other CompTIA slide I've ever seen (which I know to be correct).

•Private addresses are restricted to local networks
•10.0.0.0/8 (255.0.0.0)
•172.16.0.0/12 (255.240.0.0)
•192.168.0.0/16 (255.255.0.0)
Sorry, I don't see any mistake. Those are the correct private addresses and the correct subnets. Even if most of the people are using 172.16.x.y with a 255.255.0.0 subnet and 192.168.x.y with 255.255.255.0 subnet doesn't mean that is correct. HOLY COW! I have been wrong about this all these years? (not to mention that MOST resources on the Internet, as well as previous iterations of this class AND others have been wrong too!)Sorry, I don't see any mistake. Private addresses according to RFC 1918:
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 (10/8 prefix)
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 (172.16/12 prefix)
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 (192.168/16 prefix)
It seems like you are also quite familiar with my favourite TV show!!
My wife and I are currently binge watching it for the fourth time.It seems like you are also quite familiar with my favourite TV show!!
LOL! I have watched it beginning to end at least 7-8 times, but probably more than that. The original reason I got satellite TV back in 2000 was so that when I was working or otherwise then I would be able to catch the west coast feed. My (then) wife and son bought me the DVD box set in 2007... it is the only set of DVDs that I have kept (even though I usually watch it streaming when I am in the mood.My wife and I are currently binge watching it for the fourth time.
