CompTIA CAS-005 Retake Possible After Missing Appointment Due To Internet?

Hello CINers,

I wanted to know if I could take the CompTIA SecurityX exam again. I used OnVUE to set my exam for July 4, 2025. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue with the exam because of an internet outage right before check-in, even though the system check was completed after my scheduled time. The same day I talked to Pearson VUE customer service and was told that a free retake was not available. Please assist @Stephen Schneiter

Quite likely the proctor revoked the exam session if he/she attempted contact/re-establish connection. Usually minor outages can be tolerated, even if you end up with a different proctor. But if the session was revoked, then there's nothing for it. While I'm sure this isn't the case for you, it's part of the anti-cheating protocol. Not too sure if you can recover your voucher, mate.

Another reason why I'll never take an OnVUE exam, ever - because if something happens at a test center, then at least I have an opportunity for remediation because they can reschedule the exam. I've heard of things like outages at a center and since they can maintain controls to prevent any kind of impropriety, it usually works out.

OK thanks, and while the delays only happened before the check-in, there was no Proctor at 12:00 PM (the starting time), I immediately contacted them. Our nearest testing centers do not support SecurityX.

I did not even click start exam link I only use system check link after it passes that is when I realized that Proctor is not around due to the missing appointment time.
