I've always thought it would be great if there was a place that trainers and instructors could gather and discuss things like pay rates, clients, certifications, logistics, etc. A community where we could exchange information, ideas, and advice related to teaching technical classes. CIN does give us a place to talk about CompTIA certs, but we really need a larger platform to discuss other certification bodies, and other issues related to the job of being a trainer or instructor.
The challenge with that is that, before you know it, you're accused of running a cartel with price fixing.
Plus you have to ask yourself how useful it'll be, because pricing will vary greatly depending on the location of the actual trainer.
I really don't mind openly talking about how I work and my rates. I don't know how happy CIN will be if we use their forum for it.

I wouldn't consider it a cartel or price fixing. It would be more of a discussion of industry best practices.
There are several trainers who sell themselves woefully short and they accept offers for training at half the going rate. It makes it tough for other trainers when they're constantly losing work to trainers who devalue their experience and expertise.
