Yesterday, I passed the DataSys+ exam. I have lots of experience with SQL, MS SQL Server, and MS Access so a lot of it was review. It's a pretty good exam for people who are working with databases in a business context, as well as a technical role designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading databases. It touches on cloud-based databases, but I suspect that it will get much more coverage in the next version of the exam.

I didn't know where to post this topic since DataSys+ and the upcoming DataX do not have dedicated forums.

I have plans to take DataX when it comes out. I also need to complete Linux+ and renew each of the new versions of the older exams.

I was debating on testing for it, I might have to give it a shot this summer. I wish MS Access would die already but I have clients that still use it so I still have to support it. I received the Data+ and I'm anxiously awaiting the DataX beta results. Might as well get this trifecta completed, too.

The exam covered the exam objectives. Because SQL is covered in multiple objectives, there were quite a few questions on it. You should be able to read SQL code blocks and understand the syntax, including transactions. You should understand indexes, performance, BCDR, data security, & GRC. If you have Securtiy+, Network+, or Cloud+, they can help you with parts of the exam.

The only thing that I didn't expect was that there were zero PBQs.
