How long have you been CompTIA certified? I originally passed the A+ back in 1999 and therefore am GFL. I also have the CE certification.

I am curious of how "old" my certification is in comparison to my peers on here.

(I just contacted CompTIA about getting access to my certification records and have them connected to an email account I still access.)

Wow...um...

I got my first A+ in Feb of 1999 -- did it because a week prior, I had earned my MCSE, after passing test six for MS Exchange 5.5. Walked into my shop like a boss, but then, one of the other techs said, "Yeah? So? You don't have your A+, dude."

Really??

The next week, I went in and took the 220-101 and 102, back to back. Walked back into the shop with my MCSE in one hand, A+ in the other. I just looked at him...shook my head and hung both up on my wall.

Still got my old card...it's been beat the heck up, but I still have it in my billfold.

Since that time, it's been a sleigh ride - one that I can say I am still on, although work and life has slowed me down - going after Cloud+ right now; I think I'm about ready tho.

Anyway, here's to now over two decades of endless technical reading.

i-Net+ in 2005.
