Hello CINners,

Based on what you know about the new SecurityX exam, out of 100 persons, having nothing more than user-level knowledge, how many do you feel would be lucky enough to attain a passing score on that exam?

Now, keep in mind that these persons have almost zero knowledge in the area of cybersecurity. In fact, to put their knowledge in some meaningful context, let's say that they are folks who bring home their new router from Xfinity (or whomever), and don't know that it's a GREAT idea to change the default password for the admin account. Yeah, at that level :)

Anyway, give me a number. There's no right or wrong - just your number. I'm going somewhere with this, but not in this post!

Thanks CINners

This one is very simple! Perhaps two persons out of 100 with knowledge of router default passwords could pass—one by pure chance, and the other because they happened to stumble upon a YouTube crash course the night before the test! 😅

However, miracles do happen, and who knows? Perhaps one of them will be the fortunate one selected to become a cybersecurity expert in the future. Let's hope they at least figure out how to update that admin password in the interim! 😄

I'm interested to know where you plan to take this!

2 persons - got it!

Now don't get to excited with anticipation about where I'm going with this simple exhibition.
It won't be anything earth shattering. The question that I ask in my initial post will simply feed
into my next query.

Thank you as always for stopping by :)

Haha 😂... I’ll try to temper my excitement about where we’re going with this!

I have to agree with @Gregory Childers on this! I would have to say that with zero experience, if they pass the SecurityX exam, I would want them to pick my lottery numbers!! 🤑

So, look at it theoretically. If they do not have any work experience, it is hard. If they hold A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, well the pass percentages will go up drastically. But without anything? I don't think so.

Okay Mr. S, you're agreeing with Gregory, therefore your number of persons that you feel would pass the exam is zero (0).

Thank you good sir for your reply!
